Here's what's happening for QFK............

We have a new brochure...E-mail me to send you one or more to have or pass along. There are also brochures at The Pine Needle in Lake Oswego and Quilting Delights in Clackamas, Oregon. It tells all about Quilts For Kids and has guidelines for making a quilt as well as our Angel with the Quilted Wings label. We hope to recruit many new quilters to pass along the wonderful experience of donating a quilt to a child in need.

The 2003 Community Raffle Quilt is "Have a Heart" Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00. The quilt may be seen at The Pine Needle until Dec. 3, and tickets may be purchased there or at our other supporting quilt shop, Quilting Delights.

4th annual Quilts That Care Luncheon....Held December 4th, starting at 11:30 at The Tualatin Country Club in Tualatin, Oregon. We will have eight raffle quilts that will be won by someone at the luncheon, as well as twelve gorgeous auction quilts!! These quilts have to seen to be believed! The generous, accomplished quilters who made and donated the quilts will be present. We have a professional auctioneer who is fabulous! She makes the auction so much fun for all of us. In addition to the raffle and auction quilts, each table will have a silent auction for the centerpiece: wonderful decorative teapots with beautiful, handmade tea cozies. Proceeds from this event are split 50/50 between CARES NW and QFK. Tickets for this wonderful Christmas luncheon go on sale the 1st of September and can be purchased for $40.00. As of October, 2003, over 2050 quilts have been taken to CARES NW to be given to children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual and/or physical abuse and/or severe neglect.

"Our Christmas Challenge" is officially underway! Our goal this year is 250 quilts. Kits are available at Quilting Delights and The Pine Needle as well as the 'Challenge Boards' for you to sign and keep track of our progress. On Dec. 15th, let's take 250 quilts to CARES!! Remember that for a lot of these kids, the ONLY gift they will receive for Christmas will be the quilt you make!!! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR!!
