Comforting Kids Network is an Oregon non-profit organization dedicated to providing just what the name implies: comfort to children in peril. Quilts For Kids is the part of the network that implements our goal by providing quilts to children seen at CARES NW.
CARES NW -Child Abuse Response and Evaluation Services- sees over 1400 kids a year from area hospitals, physicians' offices, and state and county family services. Here the kids are examined and interviewed and recommendations are made for each child's best interest. As of November 2007, over 7000 quilts have been taken to CARES NW. These quilts are made by volunteers who donate their time, talent and materials.

This year's Quilts For Kids & CARES Northwest Luncheon will be held on November 30, 2007 at the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, Oregon. Emcee for this year's event will be Julianne Johnson, a musican and dynamic personality who performs regularly with Michael Allen Harrison. A highlight of this year's live auction will be “A Night with Julianne Johnson & Friends”. She will perform for a company Christmas party, a party at your home or wherever you choose, or get together with friends to win this unique item! Our auctioneer will once again be the wonderful and entertaining JillMarie Wiles of Beneficial Auctions. She has been our auctioneer for five years!!! and is simply the best!. |
